Design Connection...

Though I'm not a graphic designer, I have great respect for their devotion to solving business problems with design as well as their commitment to philanthropic efforts. A bunch of them are some of my greatest friends too :)

My friend, Karen Kurycki sent me the following email and I thought I'd pass it along to you...

Just wanted to let you know about the Design Connection event that is on Thursday at the library to promote design philanthropy and educate people about the power design can have for non-profits and businesses. I think this is going to be a really great event--there will be a roundtable and expo featuring several non-profits from the Jacksonville area, along with their designers. After listening to the each of the non-profit's stories, you will decide who you would like to donate your $10 admission fee to. (So AIGA isn't really making any money off of the event unless people choose to donate their money to AIGA). The event is open to everyone--anyone involved in non-profit organizations, designers and business people will all benefit from attending. See below for the "who should attend" part for more details. It's a great event to bring the community together and donate to some great causes and at the same time educate the community about what we do as designers. (non-profits listed below):
