That's right ladies and gentlemen

This shiny new mini-fridge showed up at desk today courtesy of my friends at Harrington Design Company. Which goes to show you that our moms had it wrong afterall--complaining does get you somewhere. Jeff was prompted to send this by string of post about the creamer caper. Now, the creamer can reside at my desk with me and my raging caffeine habit. Also, I can put coca-cola labels on beer cans and store them too :)

Thanks Jeff!!!!!!!

Weekend Wrap Up

Friday
Spent the afternoon running around picking up and delivering PLAYER tickets to collegues and friends and then headed to Jimi's for a hair appointment. Same cut, same color. It was too good to change right now. Then I went to Michael's house and we went to his lot to water the plants. True to my awkward form, I walked through the high grass and got hitchhikers ALL over my pants and sandals. We picked them off one by one like a couple of monkeys.

For dinner, we went to Smokey Bones and ate 127 onion rings. Soooo delicious. We then headed home to watch Dan in Real Life, but as usual Comcast On Demand was more like Comcast On Demand Disappointment.

Saturday

Tromped through 10-12 different homes/condos/townhomes for sale. Let's just say I love everything that is too expensive and completely unrealistic. It was very tiring, but I'm very happy that my realtor, Sherrie, is fun to do this with. She's very accommodating and says exactly what she's thinking about a property even if it's bad. For example, we went into this POS foreclosure that was frightful. It looked like somebody had led a horse to a water and then let it run rampant in the house peeing everywhere and kicking holes in walls. Sherrie's comment was "This place is disgusting, I don't even want to touch anything. Let's go."

I took a breather for a few hours and then met Emily Sisson and her fiance, Michael, for a glass of wine at the pool. When we arrived there was this strange looking creature sitting alone drinking Michelob Ultra Pomegrante at the next table. He proceeded to offer us some saying "My fiance stood me up so now I have to drink these and don't even like them." Being the kind soul that he is, Michael invited him to sit with us and it turns out his fiance didn't just stand him up, she got on a plane to Ohio. We were trying to be nice but it didn't look good. And to top off her spontaneous departure she left him with 2 hamsters and a dog. Good luck with a rebound when you have 2 hamsters--she knew what she was doing. Anyways, this creature kept getting up to "use the head" as he called it. GROSS. I wanted to tell him that his fiance probably decided she didn't want to marry a hobbit after all.

We escaped to Em & Michael's apartment and then I went home to get dressed for the Ritz. Not much to say about the Ritz--it was Ritzish as usual--except for they upped the stakes with a $5 cover charge for a charity not of our choice. I'm assuming since I haven't heard a thing I didn't win the raffle price either.

another hidden talent emerges

On our first visit to Daruma Japanese Steakhouse, Michael insisted that the Chef launch a shrimp into my mouth. Ofcourse, being the awkward person that I am, it bounced off my face and stuck to my shirt. After the long meal, we stood up to leave and I got all the way to my car before I realized the shrimp was clinging to my shirt for dear life (ironic since it was cooked right?).

Last night we returned to Daruma, and with the shrimp incident still very present in my memory, I had NO intention of every trying that circus act again. Michael, who relishes in my embarassment, encourages the Chef (same as last time) that I'm an old pro at this. I politefully decline and insist Michael is indeed the better sport. When that didn't work I resorted to the old "I'm allergic to shrimp" trick. Well, what do you know!?!?! I'm a moran and the guy has an entire grill full of beef, poultry and seafood ready to be launched at my face. It would have been more effective to say I was allergic to food.

Ofcourse, my pleadings have now drawn attention to me and the entire table is starring. I'm telling myself repeatedly "you're better under pressure, keep your eye on the chicken." As the Chef comments on the extremely large size of my mouth he hits the spatuala with a knife to spring the chicken into the air. Slowly and gingerly I tip my head backwards, blink and feel the hot chicken slap the back of my throat.

Holllllllllllllllllllllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I CAN JUMP ROPE!

Amber convinced us to go to her cycle boot camp class last night. It's basically circuit cross training with different excruciating stations. One of the stations was jumping rope. Sarah, Jenn, and Maegan can votch for the fact that up until yesterday I could not jump rope. It was one of the skills I didn't learn as a child like sharing and whistling. Anyways, I'm thinking out of sheer fear of embarassment my body jumped roped. I think I topped out at appx. 10 go arounds before I'd have to reset myself. But still, damn I'm good. I really feel that this is a huge breakthrough in my adult life. 25 and jump roping. Holler.

(I know that pic is obviously not me. But that kid is having a good time and so was I.)

Weekend Recap

Friday
After work I hit up Target for some very exciting purchases including bleach, paper towels, fabric softener and dryer sheets. (I know, I have a thrilling life.) Luckily, Annie called asked me to drop by Broudy's and grab some wine, otherwise I would have ended up cleaning the house and getting organized. Who needs to do crap like that on a Friday :)
We drank wine on the porch and took turns performing concerts for each other. Jim and Annie were an incredible audience as well as very skilled performers. I especially liked Jim's rendention of david lee roth's "just a gigalo." We then cabbed it to Atlantic for 80's night. After texting, emailing and calling Amber repeatedly she finally joined us. I couldn't have pumped my fist to "come on eileen" without her. It would've been tragic.

Saturday
Woke up and realized I'd lost my debit card from Friday night's shenanigans. Cancelled the card, all was fine. Though it does make you feel like kind of a dirt bag when you call to cancel and they ask you the last purchase and amount. Hearing yourself say "The Atlantic Bar in Jacksonville Beach for $43" is slightly demoralizing. Anywhoo, later in the evening I picked up my lil sis and took her to dinner. She was adorable and hilarious as usual. We went to a party where a bunch of my friends from highschool were and it was a blast. Got to see Mehul, Beej, Gregg, Alex, and Marc. They are all doing great and it was lovely to see them.
That's about it. Or about all I'm willing to share anyways :)

Have a great week ya'll (as amber would say).
