Sorry for the delay between updates, we've been very busy, and I didn't have enough service to post from my phone.
Here's the breakdown of the last few days...
Saturday night we got dressed up and had a sushi dinner in our hotel. It was wonderful. I had some sort of lobster concoction. Then we made the $50 cab ride to the strip and went our pursuit of seeing every single hotel and having a drink at each. The strip is definitely something to see, but I don't know if if it's my speed (or the other way around). One evening there was def. enough for me.
Sunday we slept in and then headed to the Cafe for bloody marys and breakfast. Then it was straight to the pool. There were atleast 1300 people in the pool. It was insane. And tons of kids. We floated and tanned most of the afternoon and then one by one went up to shower for the night ahead. Rather than a bigger dinner out we opted to order pizza to the room and eat while getting ready. I sipped my $12 glass of wine (it was the cheapest on the menu) and ate what resembled matzo bread with cheese and sauce until the hunger went away. The pizza's were too small to make you feel full--fancy pizza we called it. Then we were headed back to the strip for Mystere, the Cirque de Soleil show. I'll write that up as its own post. We drank our fill before and after at a place called Kahunaville. And yes, by the name, I'm sure you can already tell that it was awesome.
Monday was driving day. We headed South to San Diego and every 15 minutes the altitude would go up by a 1,000 feet. This made me very car sick. We pulled over, got it out of my system, and then Laurel gave me a nausea pill that knocked me out for a couple hours.
The drive through California was unreal. Everything is gorgeous. Everywhere is a view. We arrived at Laurel's new home at about 5 PM. Each of her boys (Craig, Goomba, and Bowzer), had gotten her a Welcome Home Balloon). We had wine and spaghettie and called it a night.
